About Dolmen

The business’ namesake is the Poulnabrone Dolmen in County Clare in Ireland.

A Dolmen is a stone age tomb, and the Poulnabrone Dolmen has been standing for over 5,000 years.

As shown on the left, the Dolmen logo represents:

About Me

My name is Aidan Custy, I am a Registered Dietitian and Sports Nutritionist.

It’s my job to take the complexities of biochemistry and sports science and create practical, personalised, performance-focussed advice that works.

So you can put more of your energy towards training, rest, and recovery without having to worry about your nutrition being right.

I have spent several years working with young people with eating disorders in the NHS and I prioritise interactive, engaging education – not just telling you what to do, but showing you how things work so you can make your own choices.

I specialise in REDs and Endurance Running but can cater to a wide variety of athletes so if you feel we would be a good fit to work together, feel free to get in touch!

Experience

I studied at Leeds Beckett University for both my Dietetics and Sports Nutrition Qualifications, and I have been working as a Registered Dietitian in the NHS for over 5 years with most of that time spent in Eating Disorder Services for Under 18’s.

With my own sporting experience (in cycling, running, and dance) and my experience working with young people with Eating Disorders,  I believe there is a place for Dietitians and Sports Nutritionists who can be compassionate to the needs of people who struggle with their relationship with food.

My professional interests include Endurance Sports, Dance, Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs), and the overlap between Sports and Eating Disorders.

I strongly believe that I could have all the sports nutrition knowledge in the world but if I can’t translate that knowledge into practical advice for you, then I wouldn’t be doing my job.

So I put a lot of thought into how exactly I communicate to ensure that the advice is always considerate to your health & relationship with food as well as being no more complicated than it has to be.
